Initially refused as he stated he was married on arrival but on her cert of freedom no 44/1778 dated 4/12/1844 states wife of william Luxford per ship Lady Feversham

William was assigned to the Dept. of Public Works on arrival. 1834: TOL Invermein 1837: At Invermein 14/8/1839: Married Mary Gallagher (born C1814, Mayo, Ireland) - 4 children listed on NSW BDM. 1841 Census: at Muswellbrook, NSW. 13/4/1844: Found not guilty fo stealing an order from Henry Shoulders, Maitland. 11/5/1844: Admitted to Newcastle gaol from Maitland charged with larceny. To be sent for trial. 9/7/1844: Found guilty of 'stealing money from a dray - sentenced to 7 years transportation. 16/9/1844: Arrived Norfolk Island. 25/1/1848: Arrived VDL per 'Lady Franklin' - he was then described as: Single, 39 years old, 5'8 1/2" tall, ruddy complexion, light brown hair and whiskers, grey eyes, large brown birth mark on upper part of right arm, protestant, can read and write. 6/6/1848: TOL 28/5/1850: Permission to marry Mary Ann Merrett (Sea Queen). 24/6/1850: Married - he was listed as 35? an a farmer and she was 22, they married at New Norfolk. Mary Ann died after labour on 4/12/1857, 28 years old - no outcome of the child. 15/10/1850: CP 6/9/1851: COF 5/9/1855: Tried for assaulting Feltus Rowe - Not Guilty 14/9/1862: Married Mary Anne Wayman, she was a widow aged 47 and he was a widower aged 52 and a labourer. Mary Anne Wayman died 3/2/1890 aged 71, of Senilis at the New Town Pauper Establishment, and was buried at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, pauper's section. 24/10/1893: William died of Senile Debility at the New Town Pauper Establishment and was buried at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, pauper's section.

William Luxford was transported when he was just 21 years old. He was also married to Mary Ann Holmes (born 1789, East Grinstead, Sussex, England) as well as three other women whom he met in Australia
