Eleanor (Ellen) Lyons: born abt 1826 Waterford, Ireland. Aged 24yrs; Hazel eyes; brown hair; pale complexion; country servant; single; Roman Catholic. Native place of birth - Co. Waterford. Assignments of service in Colony: New Town Farm, Huon, Franklin Married Charles Slaughter (transported per 'Maya') 12/01/1853. Ticket of Leave 01/08/1854 Conditional Pardon 26/02/1856 Children: Charles Slaughter Ellen Slaughter female child Slaughter Son Charles was admitted to Queens Orphanage 06/01/1862, records indicating that father was deceased and mother in prison. He was aged 7yrs. No records found of his discharge. Charles Slaughter, husband, died 1861 Hobart. Remarried Daniel Davis 1862 Hobart.

Eleanor or Ellen Lyons was convicted at Wexford, Ireland on 9 Jul 1850 for setting fire to a house. 15yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar', arriving 29/05/1851.
