The convict indentures state that Patrick Lyons was 17 years old. He could neither read or write; religion Catholic; status single and is a native of Carlow. He was a farm boy. He was convicted of a stealing clothes on 28 March 1828 at Carlow and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - 5 feet 1 inches; complexion dark ruddy and pock pitted; hair dark brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 137. Assigned to Mr T. Greaves, Pitt Town. Received ticket of leave in 1835(Number 35/471)
