John McDonough, aged 26 was transported on “Boddingtons” in February 1793 for seven years after being found guilty in January 1792 of theft of shoes.  He remained imprisoned in Ireland for a year until “Boddingtons” departed Cork.

Freemans Journal, 12 January 1792 p 4: 
“TRIALS AT THE THOLSEL
“The Quarter Sessions commenced at the Tholsel, before Dennis George, Esq, on Thursday last, at which the following persons were tried, viz:
“John McDonogh for stealing a pair of shoes, value 1l, the property of James Brenan.  - All sentenced to be transported for seven years.”
