Mary MacInnes was convicted at Liverpool on 10 May 1852 for Larceny by a servant-stealing clothes. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Duchess of Northumberland' 1853. Single; aged 19yrs; housemaid; 5'1 1/4"; Protestant; can read & write. Native Place - Liverpool, England. Father - John Brothers - Alexander & James Assigned out to work services in the Hobart district. Clear Conduct record. 8 Aug 1854: Ticket of Leave granted 1856: House of Correction Hobart. 3 Apr 1856: Child Elizabeth MacGuinness (MacInness) admitted to Queens Orphanage, aged 1 yr 3mths. She died 23 June 1856. Buried on 25 June at St. Johns Cemetery, New Town, nr Hobart. (Ref. Orphan 3664) Possible marriage in 1858 to Joseph Chamberlain - but no source reference found. 26 Jan 1858: Conditional Pardon approved
