Per "Boddingtons", 1793 1818 Sep 28 Memorial for land in district of Pitt Town near Vinegar Hill toll gate (Fiche 3012; 4/1822A No.37A pp.114a-b) To Governor Macquarie. Petition of Charles McCormack Respectfully sheweth That Petitioner came to this colony in the ship Boddington, Chambers Master),in the year 1793, under sentence of transportation for seven years but by mistake, was entered in the book for Life and have faithfully ? Government for twenty years, mostly under the Superintence of Mr R. Fitzgerald. Petitioner received Your Excellency’s Conditional Pardon since the year 1814 and at the last Muster, Your Excellency was pleased to say I was to make application on the first Monday in June last, which Petitioner did, through the hands of Major Antilly. Petitioner waited on Mr Meehan, the Deputy Surveyor of General on Monday the 21 Sep at Handson? And found Petitioners Name was in his list for Grants of Land. Petitioner therefore humbly ----- that your Excellency will be pleased to Grant him – acres of land situated in the district of Pitt Town near Vinegar Hill Old Gate, which will be the means of comforting him in his old age. And Petitioner, as in duty bound, will ever pray. Signed) Charles McCormack. Date ? Sept 1818. Signed, W. Meehan – Windsor, 5 Oct 1818. The bearer, Chas. McCormack is receiving a grant of thirty acres.
