Convict Notes
Henry Jesse MADDOCK, son of James MADDOCK and Jane SMITH was born at the 'Blue Ball' in the village of Payhembury in Devon 9th Mar 1831. He married Mary Ann GARNISH - known as Mary Ann ALLEN (1848-1935) at Northam, Western Australia 7th Nov 1864. Mary Ann was the daughter of Frances GARNISH-ALLEN. Nine (9) children 1866-1890 including my great grandmother Sarah Emily MADDOCK (1873-1956). Youngest son Percival Ernest Allen MADDOCK died on the Somme in 1917. His name is recorded on the Menin Gate at Ypres as he has no known grave. Henry Jesse MADDOCK died in 1906 and is buried at Northam Cemetery. Wife Mary Ann went to live with her daughter in Perth and is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery. Contact rangcf54@hotmail.com
