391 ton Barque. Built Liverpool. The Barque Arabian, under the command of Captain Robertson, left Kingstown, Dublin, 22 November, 1846, with 150 female convicts and 37 children on board. One woman and 7 children died on the voyage. At least 2 children were born during the voyage. The Surgeon Superintendent was Dr Wylie, R.N. and the Matron, Mrs Evans. The Arabian arrived at Hobart Town, February 25 1847.

Francis Donovan and Margaret Mahony pleaded guilty of stealing some articles of wearing apparel, and were sentenced seven years transportation. Southern Reporter and Cork Commercial Courier, 30 Oct 1845. --------------------------------------------------------------------- CONVICT DEPARTMENT. Comptroller-Generals Office, 10th May, 1852. In accordance with the Act of Council 6th Victoria, No. 18, I hereby give notice, for the first time, that His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to approve of the solemnisation of Matrimony between the under-mentioned parties :— Alfred Hughes, T. L., " Maitland", and Margaret Mahoney, T. L., " Arabian", both residing in Hobart Town; Hobarton Guardian, 12 May 1852.
