There are two men called Daniel Mahony aboard the Mary. The only real distinguishing features are their occupations - one is a labourer and the other a servant - and their dates of birth. Daniel Mahony (1) is sometimes recorded as being born in 1793 while Daniel Mahony (2) often has 1797 as his date of birth. While their birth dates do vary, depending on the record consulted, the safest distinction between them is that Daniel Mahony (1) is about 4 years older than Daniel Mahony (2). NOTE: Please disregard the previous Convict Indents record that I posted here because it applies to Daniel Mahony (1). The following Convict Indents record is for Daniel Mahony (2): 1819: Daniel MAHONY (2) 22, 5’4½”, fair ruddy complexion, red hair, dark eyes, native place County Kerry (see NSW Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1818-1819).

1819: Daniel MAHONY (1) 26, 5’4½”, fair ruddy complexion, dark brown hair, dark eyes, native place County Kerry (see NSW Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1818-1819). There is a notation on his record about 2 years to irons on road gang, Criminal Court of Sydney, 6 June 1829.
