Roger Harper, charged an accomplice with John Norton and Wm. Manby-Admitted evidence. Suffolk Chronicle, 1 April 1820. John Norton and Wm. Manby, convicted on various charges of robbery at Mettingham, Rumburgh; Bury and Norwich Post, 5 April 1820, --------------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday last, the following convicts were removed from Ipswich County Gaol, to be put on board the hulks at Portsmouth : — Benj. Bunn, John Wales, Thos. Hurn, James Plumb, Matthew Newell, Wm. Calver, to be transported for life; Samuel Lester, Wm. Jackson, and Wm. Summons, for 14 years ; and John Norton, Wm. Manby, Adam Palmer, and R. Day. for 7 years. Bury and Norwich Post, 3 May 1820. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hulk Records – Portsmouth. HO-9-8_4 page 50/52.
