We have further to announce the arrival on Sunday morning, the 29th instant, of the ship Almorah, with 180 male prisoners, all in excellent health, consequent upon their good treatment upon the passage; she lost not a man. — This vessel sailed from the Downs the 28th of April, arrived at Rio de Janeiro the 15th of June, and sailed on the 23rd; Sydney Gazette, 30 Aug 1817. Almorah 2. Yesterday arrived from Ireland,- the ship Almorah; Captain Winter. She sailed from the Cove of Cork the 22d of August last, and brings 160 male prisoners, all in good health. Surgeon Superintendent, Dr. Alexander, R. N. The guard consists of a party of 30 men belonging to the 1st Regiment of Foot (Royals), under orders of Ensign Bruce. Sydney Gazette, 23 Dec 1820. Almorah 3. On Friday last, arrrived from Ireland, with 108 female prisoners, the ship Almorah, Captain Boyd. She sailed from Cork the 6th of April; reached no where: and, independent of the female prisoners, brings 15 free women, and 50 children. One prisoner, and one child, died on the passage. Dr. Price, R. N. is the Surgeon Superintendent. Sydney Gazette, 26 Aug 1824.

Catherine Mangan or Mangin, (widow of Richard Coleman, died Ireland), was tried for theft, felony wearing apparel. Certificate of freedom on 28/12/1830. Catherine was accompanied by her 10 month old daughter Mary Ann Coleman but left behind four older children in Ireland. Mary Ann was sent to the female orphan school when she was a bit older and returned to her mother after her marriage to John Armstrong. 11 May 1828: at the age of 39, married John Armstrong (Hillsborough 1799) aged 53 years, at St. John's Church in Wilberforce. She was also known to have another child, a daughter, by the name of Catherine to a labourer on 18 September 1837 (after John passed away), he may have been Joseph Moore and she may have married him in 1838. Together, John & Catherine had 6 children as follows: Margaret Armstrong - Born: 14 September 1828 John Armstrong - Born: 14 September 1828 at Wilberforce James K. Armstrong - Born: 25 August 1829 Jane Armstrong - Born 18 February 1830 Elizabeth Armstrong - Born: 13 March 1831 Ellen Armstrong - Born: 3 November 1835 10/8/1874: Catherine died at Vinegar Hill, NSW
