Family connections for John (Mara) may be: MARA John (Mara) was born about 1771 perhaps at Nenagh Tipperary Co. Ireland & became a shoe/boot maker. He was tried at Tipperary co., sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 8 4 1816 after a voyage of 16months on GUILDFORD. It may be he, as John (O'Meara), who married Charlotte (Flower her second marriage) on 30 9 1817 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He was issued his Conditional Pardon on 4 6 1819. [Some details taken from this Website] Charlotte (Flower) arrived in Australia as a governess in 1807 on BROTHERS. She married firstly John (O'Meara) on 21 11 1807 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She died on 14 11 1821 age45 at Parramatta governess mother of 3children & was buried at St Johns CofE Parramatta.
