Margaret KELLY was convicted at Galway on 9 March 1852 for sheep stealing. 7 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Midlothian' arriving 24 Feb 1853. Aged 22yrs; child's maid; 4'7 1/2"; Roman Catholic. Native place - Co. Galway Assignments of work service in southern VDL. Application for permission to marry: to Thomas Mitchen approved. 21 Feb 1854. Application for permission to marry: to James Forsyth(e). Approved. Married 18 Sept 1854. Ticket of Leave approved 3 Oct 1854 Conditional Pardon approved 13 Nov 1855
