On Monday last, Mary Weaver, Martha Potts, and Ann Cross, under sentence of transportation for 7 years, were removed from our county gaol to the ship Midas, at Woolwich, bound to New South Wales. Staffordshire Advertiser, 2 July 1825.

Martha Potts was found guilty of stealing a large sum of money, the property of Mr. George Cope, of the Old Crown public-house, at Burslem; transported for 7 years. Birmingham Chronicle, 21 April 1825.
