D. - 11 April 1833 - Life [2] Hobart - 2 July 1835 - Life [3] Hobart - 29 Jan 1840 - To be hanged Native Place; London Remarks; EXECUTED; 17 Feb 1840 The Hobart Town Courier and Van Diemen's Land Gazette Fri 21 Feb 1840. Page 2. LOCAL. Ok Monday morning last the four condemned criminals, Riley, Davis, Pettit, and Martin, suffered the extreme penalty of the law at the usual place of execution, in front of the-gaol in Hobart ..... Edward Martin, who was found guilty of stabbing with intent to kill, was sent to this colony in 1833, for life ; he was a native of Cork, and was convicted in the name of John.
