He was tried w/3others for burglary in Cawthorpe Lincolnshire at Lincoln Assizes in March 1815, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW on 8 3 1817 after a voyage of 5months on FAME; he was Protestant. He married with permission Elizabeth (Browning/horn her second marriage) on 11 3 1822 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. In 1822 he was overseer of carpenters for Government Works. He tried several times to have his step daughters removed from Orphan School. On 24 10 1825 he was assigned to his wife as a servant at Parramatta. He was issued his Conditional Pardon in November 1825. He is recorded in 1828 as carpenter with his family at Parramatta, employing several carpenters. [Some details taken from this Website] Elizabeth (Browning) was born about 1792/8. She married firstly ??? (Owen), who later abandoned her, & produced 4children. She was tried for forgery at Surrey Assizes & sentenced to 14years. She had trouble having her children accepted for the journey to NSW-they would have been abandoned in Woolwich if it hadn't been for kind official action. She arrived in NSW as a convict with her children on 30 9 1820 after a voyage of 4.5months on MORLEY; she was Protestant. She was sent by boat to Parramatta with her children. She is recorded on 14 2 1821 at Female Factory. She is recorded in 1828 with Ticket of Leave with her family at Parramatta. She died on 11 3 1839 age about41 mother of 4known children.
