Aged 18 yrs; single woman; Church of England; housemaid; 5'1" height; fair complexion; lt brown hair; blue eyes. Native place of birth: Manchester, England. (ref. Convict Indent record) Mother: Catherine, at Manchester. 5 Sisters: Caroline, Sarah, Ann, Elizabeth & Amelia. Colony of VDL: 6 mths Probation Period. 29 Jan 1846: fighting. 1 mth hard labour at the Female Factory, Hobart. 30 March 1846: absent without leave. 3 mths hard labour, Female Factory Hobart. 2 Sept 1846: Delivered of a female child, Catherine. 31 Aug 1847: Application for permission to marry - Mary Ann GORTON (Emma Eugenia) to John HAYNES (Earl Grey).
