Convict Notes
Allocated to the Maitland area upon arrival. Had a number of admissions to Newcastle Gaol.
Mary Ann Smith and Sarah Brown, (both from London) charged with stealing from the person of John Owen, of a coat and various other articles of wearing apparel and 15s. 6d. in money. Worcester Herald, 9 July 1831.
On Tuesday the following convicts, sentenced to seven years’ transportation, were removed from our City Gaol to Woolwich, where they will embark on board the Pyramus for New South Wales:—Anne Harwood. for stealing bread from the Market House has been convicted of felony; Alice Parsons, for stealing from the person of a drover.—Mary Ann Smith, and Sarah Brown, convicted the last assizes of stealing from the person of John Owen, the parish of Martin were also removed from the county to Woolwich, for fourteen years’ transportation.
