Mary Heaton (widow) married John Esnip Patman 7/4/1874 at Longford Tasmania. She died 26/10/1911 at Pauper Establishment New Town. Mary was buried 29/10/1911, Pauper Section B, Cornelian Bay Cemetery Hobart. There are a few age variations on records for Mary.
Mary Leonard was 20 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for ‘Vagrancy’. Mary was 4’11 ½” tall, brown hair, blue eyes, several pimples on chin, bled both arms, unmarried – on the town 1 year, illiterate. 3/4/1855: TOL 1855: Permission to marry Levi Eaton (listed as Heaton) – marriage registered 1 or 17/8/1855 – 5 children listed – James 1857, John Levi 1858, Thomas 1860, Mary Ann 1861, Elizabeth 1863. W. Conn, while grubbing a tree near the public road. As the tree fell it came in contact with the man, broke one leg and dislocated the other. He was removed to the Penguin Hotel, and Mr. E. B. E. Walker, of the Leven, set both legs, but the unfortunate man died the following morning at 3 o'clock from internal injuries. No date of death for Mary found yet.
