Mathew Fox was listed as 26 years old on arrival, his native place was Athlone, Roscommon County and Westmeath County. 22/8/1823: On list of assigned convicts who are not mechanics. Assigned to John Earl, Newcastle. 28/10/1823: Convict servant of John Earl. To be victualled from the stores at Newcastle for 6 months. July 1824: Assigned to Alexander McLeod. Sentenced by E.C. Close to 50 lashes for absenting himself from his master’s farm. July 1824: On monthly return of prisoners punished at Newcastle. 24/11/1831 Maitland Bench: Stealing-3 years, Sent to Moreton Bay. Mathew was now described as:50?? years old, 5’1 ¾” tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, dark hazel eyes, RC 24/6/1835: Returned to Sydney.
