Convict Notes
Tried and convicted at the Norfolk Quarter Sessions in Norwich on 11th July 1827 for picking pockets, sentenced to transportation for 7 years. Left England on 7th March 1828. Ship:- the 'Phoenix I' sailed with 190 male convicts on board, there were no reported deaths during the voyage. Arrived on 14th July 1828. Married Diana Rebecca Lane on 26th December 1835 at Bong Bong NSW, they had 2 children, William 1837 & Susan 1840. Matthew died in Tamworth NSW in 1875, Diana died in 1891 in Manilla NSW.
Born at Hythe, Kent, England. Married to Dinah Rebecca Lane 26/12/1835 at Bong Bong (7kms from Bowral on the Moss Vale Road, just before you pass over the bridge on the Wingecarribee River.) Died 1875. Tamworth, NSW, Australia
