The Convict Indentures state that Matthew Sweeney was 30 years old. He could neither read nor write: religion Catholic; status married and no children. He was a native of Tipperary and could plough and reap. He was convicted of cow stealing and sentenced at Tipperary on 5 April 1828 to life. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 5 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 50. Assigned to Mr Thomas Meeham, Windsor.
