Old Bailey: 29/2/1835 CHARLES MAYHEW was indicted for stealing, on the 7th of February, 7lbs. weight of mutton, value 2s. 8d.; 1lb. weight of butter value 1s.; 2 loaves of bread, value 3 1/2 d.; 1lb. weight of cheese, value 7d.; and 1lb. weight of dripping, value 5d.; the goods of Edward Peasland. GUILTY . Aged 25.— Transported for Seven Years. 1/3/1841: Admitted to Newcastle gaol, sentenced to 14 days in the cells for absconding. 19/3/1841: Absconded from the A A Co., sing 15th Feb. Charles was then described as: 32, 5'10" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, blind in left eye, tattoos, scar inside small of right leg. 15/11/1841: Admitted to Newcastle gaol from Newcastle. Returned to government service. Sent to Hyde Park Barracks. 1844: TOL Queanbeyan. 8/6/1844: COF
