John MacAndrew was indicted for feloniously breaking into the house of Lawrence Moloney and taking away wearing apparel and other articles, The indictment contained several counts, and the prisoner pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor deposed the circumstances of his house having been broken into by number of armed men; he identified the prisoner as one of the party. Another witness named Anthony Moloney deposed to his having administering illegal oath to him. Guilty. Mayo Constitution, 19 Mar 1832. … John MacAndrew, burglary and robbery judgment of death recorded. ... Sligo Journal, 30 Mar 1832. The Sheriff of the County of Mayo received, on the 30th. ult., a respite staying the execution of John M’Andrew, John Gavin, Thomas Henaghan, and Bridget Henaghan, against whom judgment of death had been recorded at the late Assizes for that county, until further orders. Roscommon and Leitrim Gazette, 7 April 1832.
