The Marriage Certificate reads as follows: Mary and George were married in St Philip’s Church, Sydney on 23 January, 1815. “George Marshall, Clothier, a Batchelor, and Mary McCarroll, a Widow, both of this place were married in this Church by Banns this twenty-third day of January in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifteen. By me William Cowper.
