Police Reports. Sydney. Saturday 16 September. John McCarty, for 7 years, charged by his master, Mr. Lowe, with having committed various acts of plunder and depredation on his property at different times, and particularly with having fraudulently obtained, at two separate periods, a quantity of beef in his master's name, from the butcher his master dealt with, and making away with the same. The prisoner, it appeared, had also obtained by like fraudulent means, 3 pounds of sugar in the name of his mistress, pretending he had her authority to receive the same. To a penal settlement for 2 years. Sydney Gazette, 20 Sep 1826.
