Convict Notes

A duplicate entry of this person has also been entered under the name Mary Cremin.

Mary Kennedy was buried in an unmarked grave in Rookwood Necropolis Catholic Cemetery, not far from the St Michael the Archangel Chapel, just off Necropolis Drive. A plaque was installed in March 2024 in memory of Mary and the hard life she led. There is also a star picket installed to help identify her grave site. She is remembered by all her descendants.

Mary's native place was Cork.

Mary Kennedy was interred at Rookwood Cemetry in September 1869 as one of its earliest occupants. I have the details of the burial site but it is difficult to find. It is my goal to find it and erect a memorial headstone to an amazing convict woman who endured a extremely hard life.
