Convict Notes

On Monday, the following convicts were sent off by the Mail Coach from Tralee Gaol to the Hulk at Cove, pursuant to their sentence at the last Assizes :—William Mahony, William McCarthy, Lawrence Sullivan, Garry Fitzgerald, Patrick Kerrisk, James Callaghan, and Michael Fitzgerald, The above convicts were safely lodged on board the Hulk at Cove, in twelve hours after leaving Gaol. There are at present 347 male convicts on board the Hulk, from the several prisons in Ireland, who are said to be remarkably well behaved, which the officer in charge attributes entirely to the salutary Gaol discipline now established. Limerick Chronicle, 26 May 1827.
