On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. 1825, 17 March: McCAUSLIN (McCAUSTIN) – Certificate of Freedom #129/3357 – per Mary (1), 1819; convicted Tyrone, Lent 1818, seven years; native place Co Tyrone; labourer; 44, 5’9½ ”, ruddy pockmarked complexion, grey hair, blue eyes (see NSW, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867). 1825: John McCOUSLIN (McCAUSTIN) – free by servitude – Mary 1819, employed by Mr Palmer, Parramatta (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849, New South Wales General muster M-Z 1825).


1819, 25 August: John McCAUSTIN – convicted Tyrone, Summer/Lent 1818; 7 years; native place Co Tyrone; labourer; 36, 5’9½”; fair ruddy complexion, sandy hair and grey eyes (see NSW Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1818-1819).
