The records for this person are puzzling. There seems to have been only one person on the Southworth names Mary McCormick. Marriage permission, George Bell, per Elizabeth, age 25, 7 years, Free; and Mary McCormick, per Southworth, age 32, 7 years, Bond. Disallowed. Date of permission, 4 Aug 1837, Campbelltown George Bell, per Elizabeth, age 25, 7 years, Free; and Mary McCormick, per Southworth, age 32, 7 years, Bond. Date of permission, 18 Oct 1837, Campbelltown. NSW BMD. Marriage Reg: Ref: 1695/1837. George Bell and Mary McCormick, CI district. (Campbelltown, St Peter’s, (Co. Airds) Births of 6 children to George and Mary Bell, up to 1847.

Mary gained her Certificate of Freedom 40/19 dated 1 January 1840.Death: December 22, 1879 (71-72) Eschol near Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia (Dysentary) Place of Burial: Dubbo C of E Cemetery, (with grandson Frederick Bell 1873/1881), Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia Immediate Family: Daughter of Owen McCormick and Unknown McCormick Wife of George Bell Mother of Susan Callan - Duncan; Sarah A Wynack; George Bell; Frederick John Bell and Mary Ann Connors. Mary is buried with her grandson "Frederick 1873/1881" (son of George & Georgina Bell). Inscription Reads; MARY ANN BELL. DIED DEC 27 1879. AGED 72 YEARS A loving wife, a mother dear A Faithfull friend, lies buried here In love she lived, in peace she died Her life was craved, but God denied.
