Family connections for John (McCoy) may be: McCOY John (McCoy) was born about 1774. He arrived in NSW as a convict in 14 2 1792 after a voyage of 8.5months on PITT. He married Mary (Hill-Thomas age14) on 31 10 1808 at St Davids CofE Hobart. He was Free by Servitude by 1810. [Some details taken from this Website; where John (McKay) is found, who may be the same person] Mary Ann (Hill) was born on 28/29 1 1794 on Norfolk Island. She was later recorded as Mary (Thomas/Waterson). [Noted an Ann (Hill) is recorded as off stores on Norfolk Island in February 1805]. She left Norfolk Island with her mother as part of the first evacuation on 15 5 1808 on ESTRAMINA, arriving at Derwent Tasmania on 5 6 1808: to Clarence Plains. Details of Mary Ann (Hill)s family are given in entry for Thomas (Hill WILLIAM AND ANN 1791) on this Website. John (McCoy) & Mary (Hill) produced perhaps 7children: mostly boys]\ 1.John (McCoy) was born in 1810 - Smees records show a John (McKay) was born in 1810 & died on 11 1 1830 age about29-no parents given. 2.Henry James (McCoy) was born in 1812 & baptised on 25 12 1812 at St Davids CofE Hobart. 3.Mary (McCoy) was born in 1814 & baptised on 16 10 1814 at St Davids CofE Hobart. 4.Charles (McCoy) was born on 25 9 1815 & baptised on 19 11 1815 at St Davids CofE Hobart. 5.Ann (McCoy) was born on 2 3 1817 & baptised on 29 3 1817 at St Davids CofE Hobart. She died on 23 7 1904 age87. 6.Timothy (McCoy) was born in 1818. 7.William (McCoy) was born on 1 10 1819 & baptised on 1 11 1819 at St Davids CofE Hobart.
