HASTIE.—On July 9, 1896, at " Hillside,' Kempton, after a short illness, Janet Hastie, aged 77 years, relict of the late William Hastie, Sen., Police Constable, formerly of Bothwell. Melbourne and Sydney papers please copy. The Mercury (Hobart), 16 July 1896. HASTIE. - In loving remembrance of my dear mother and our dearest Grandma, Janet Hastie, who died at "Hillside," Kempton, on July 9, 1896. You have gone, dear mother, but not forgotten ; We miss the face we love so dear. We miss the gentle, loving voice, The voice we never more shall hear. But we hope to meet you in heaven by-and-bye. Inserted by her sorrowing daughter and family, JANE HAYES, JESSIE, ADELAIDE, and VICTORIA HAYES, and Grandsons and ALICE HAYES. The Mercury, 14 July 1899.

Her marriage was approved with William Hastie, and she gained her Ticket of Leave, 26/12/1854.
