IN VDL: 20 February, 1822: Owen McDaniel received his Free Certificate (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON23-1-1$init=CON23-1-1-p099j2k). 30 September, 1828: Drunk and disorderly -- fined 5 shillings (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-9$init=CON31-1-9p13). 5 April, 1831: For assaulting and beating Jane Farrell, he was fined £3 and ordered to find sureties to keep the peace for 6 months (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-9$init=CON31-1-9p13).


IN NSW: 1817: On arrival in NSW, Owen McDaniel was listed as 20, a servant from County Wexford; 5’2½” tall with a pale fair complexion, brown hair and hazel eyes (New South Wales, Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records, 1790-1849; 1817; and New South Wales, Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1814-1818). 9 August, 1817: He was one of 70 convicts (69 from the Chapman and one from the Pilot) who were forwarded to VDL per the brig Jupiter. --0--


IN IRELAND: 18 February, 1815: Owen McDaniel was tried in Dublin City, convicted and sentenced to 7 years’ transportation for burglary and robbery (New South Wales, Australia Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records, 1790-1849; 1817, Chapman). 10 January, 1816: Owen McDaniell [sic] was admitted to Kilmainham jail in Dublin, prisoner #2074, listed as having escaped from Newgate prison, also in Dublin. He was returned to Newgate on 8 June, 1816. 21 September, 1816: Owen McDowell [sic] was admitted to Kilmainham jail, prisoner #2830, listed as a convict from Newgate and one of several men received from Newgate on that day. All were sent from Kilmainham to board the Chapman on 19 December (Ireland, Prison Registers, 1790-1924; Dublin, Kilmainham). --0--
