Family connections for John (McDonald) are: McDONALD John (McDonald) was born about 1790. He was tried at Ayr Circuit Court of Justiciary Scotland, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 15 1 1812 after a voyage of 5.5months on GUILDFORD; he was Protestant. He married Eliza Lydia (Griffin her second marriage) on 20 8 1817 at Christ Church Castlereagh. He was Free by Servitude by 1822 & recorded in 1822 & 1823 as a farmer. In 1824 he was recorded at Windsor, employing prisoners/convicts on his farm. He actively sought increases in his landhodings. He was recorded in 1828 as farmer/grazier with his family on 500acres at Pitt Town. He was still alive in 1845. [Some details taken from this Website] Eliza Lydia (Griffin) was born on 4 3 1794 & baptised on 29 6 1794 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She married firstly John (Benn) emancipist on 16 8 1814 at St Matthews CofE Sydney. She was recorded in 1828 with her family at Pitt Town. She died on 16 7 1864 age70 mother of 4children. He died on 28 8 1830 age12 at Pitt Town & was buried at St Matthews CofE Windsor. 2.William James (McDonald) was born on 13 6 1819 at Pitt Town & baptised on 2 9 1822 age3 w/John Thomas & Margaret Jane at St Matthews CofE Windsor. He was recorded in 1828 with his parents at Pitt Town. He died on 22 3 1863 age43. 3.Margaret Jane (McDonald) was born on 6 4 1821 at Pitt Town & baptised on 2 9 1822 age17-m w/John Thomas & William James at St Mattews CofE Windsor. She was recorded in 1828 with her parents at Pitt Town. She died on 22 4 1900 age79. 4.George Frederick (McDonald) was born on 23 10 1823 at Pitt Town & baptised on 9 11 1823 at St Matthews CofE Windsor.
