Irish Convict Database by Peter Mayberry. Edward McDonnell, alias McDonald, MacDonald, age on arrival, 22, Bencoolen, 1819. Tried 1817 at Westmeath, 7 years. DOB 1797, Native place, Westmeath. Trade, Miller. --------------------------------------------------- On Monday last sailed for Hobart Town, the ship, Admiral Cockburn, Captain Briggs. She conveys to that settlement 130 male prisoners, which were transhipped from the Bencoolen, under guard of a party of the 48th, commanded by Lieutenant O'Brien. Conolly not to do so- To forfeit his TL & retd. to P.W. Oct 12 1829. F.S. Having on the 9th inst threatened the life of Tho. Smith of N. Norfolk & of having commd. Some acts of violence in the house of the said Tho. Smith. Bound over to keep the peace for 12 mos. April 6 1830. F.S. Harboring & employing Saml. Garret, a runaway convict. Fined 20/- and costs.
