Catherine's daughter Lucy Clark, married James Freeman 4th November 1833 at Portland Head (V1833233 162A/1833 -FREEMAN JAMES CLARKE LUCY) He was aged 31 and she was aged 15. James Freeman was the son of William Freeman (Convict, 1792, "Royal Admiral") and Elizabeth Chaffrey (Convict, 1796, "Marquis Cornwallis").

Clearly, Clark is the married surname for Catherine and probably NOT the surname she was transported under. However, the third voyage of the Canada, 5th December 1814 to 5th August 1815 would appear to have only transported Irish Male convicts (161 in all). The next voyage occurred 21st March 1817 to 6th August 1817 and it is this voyage that I believe Catherine came on. There were in all 89 female convicts transported from Ireland on this voyage. 11 of these had the Christian name Catherine. Only one has the required estimated date of birth... Catherine Neale, a 24 year old servant tried in Dublin in 1816 (7 years). In addition there are several who would have been aged around the right time. They are: - Catherine Fitzpatrick, a 22 year old dairy maid tried in Dublin in 1816 (7 years). Catherine Flynn, a 22 year old servant tried in Dublin in 1814 (life). Catherine Green, a 20 year old servant tried in Dublin in 1816 (7 years). Catherine Kelly, a 19 year old servant tried in Dublin in 1815 (14 years). Catherine Prendergast, a 22 year old country servant tried in Carlow in 1816 (7 years). So I believe that Catherine Clark was one of these and subsequently married a Clark and had at least 2 daughters.

the records for Catherine are most difficult to locate. However, she does appear on the 1828 Census: Page 90....
