Darby [also known as Jeremiah] McEvoy was a farmer and had a hotel in Bentnick Street Bathurst in 1859 that whet Insolvent.

The Printed Indentures state that Darby McEvoy was 26 years of age; she reads and writes; religion Roman Catholic; status single. His native place is County Wicklow and was a farm server. He committed perjury and was convicted at Wexford on 6 March 1835 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. His physical attribution height 5 feet 7 inches; complexion dark; hair black and hazel eyes. Prisoner number 35-2610 and transport number 232. Ticket of leave 39/2268 and certificate of freedom 43/932.
