Thomas Tate, and Peter M'Garry were given in charge for stealing a saddle, two bridles, the &c. out of stable belonging to Paul Carden Esq. Without hesitation the Jury brought in verdict of guilty, Sentenced to transportation for seven years but his Lordship said he would mitigate the punishment if they could find any gentleman before close of the Assizes, to give them a good character. Clonmel Herald, 3 Aug 1831.
