c1819: Year of birth calculated from stated aged 30, in 1849 Quarterly list in prisons and on hulks. 30-Sep-1847 Anthony McGinty whose occupation was listed as, Cotton Spinner, of address Calton, Glasgow, was on trial for the crime of theft, habit and repute, and previous conviction at the High Court, Glasgow. Found guilty and sentenced to transportation 7 years. Note: The co-accused, George Johnstone, was also found guilty however on a petition a remission of the sentence was granted under the Great Seal at High Court, Edinburgh, 22 Jul 1850 (see JC8/58, f.60) [National Records of Scotland, High Court of Justiciary processes, JC26/1847/446] 30-Sep-1849: Detained on the Prison Hulk, York, at Gosport.
