Mary was five foot one and a half inches, she had black hair and a dark complexion. She was single, could not read or write and had thrice been before the courts. Twelve women received at Grangegorman that day (Dec 18) came from Kildare,convicted in October 1849, six of them received ten year sentences and all 12 had a trade.
