One woman and 7 children died on the voyage. At least 2 children were born during the voyage. The Surgeon Superintendent was Dr Wylie, R.N. and the Matron, Mrs Evans. The Arabian arrived at Hobart Town, February 25 1847.

County of Antrim Sessions. Nancy M'Elrath, for a larceny. Guilty; an old offender, for whom even the new bridewell has had no terrors. Seven years’ transportation. Coleraine Chronicle, 27 June 1846. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy gave birth to a baby girl on the ship, who died at the age of 8 weeks. From the Ship Surgeon's Log: Cathe Young. aet. 8 weeks. Child of Nancy McIlrath. Convict. Frby 4th at Sea. Died. Cause of death, Atrophia. Was born on board & appeared healthy for the first month or 6 weeks after it was born, but the mother who is a simple careless woman, neglected it, & being rather delicate herself & the breast milk failing the child wasted away & at 4 this morning it expired - - - Nancy McIlrath aet. 21. Convict. Feby 5th at Sea. whose child died yesterday, says she has been purged & had a headach(sic) for 2 or 3 days past, & was purged 10 or 12 times last night. stomach irritable. sk. rather hot & a little acceleration of pulse. Feb 6. Had frequent calls to stool in the night but passed little, Head better to day, skin cool, pulse small & quick, slight pain on pressing the abdomen, thirst, stomach less irritable, but is afraid to take castor oil – vespere- much the same, to take a grain of opium.
