Re place of assignment of her husband John who arrived in the Colony per "Almorah", 1820; listed as Muckelwhee Comments: Per "Woodman", 1823 Page: 167 According to information on husband John Mcilvie from the ship Almorah contributed: Colonial Secretary Papers: MCILVEE, John. Per “Almorah”, 1820 1823 Jul 3: Request for information re his place of assignment as his wife Mary had arrived as a convict per “Woodman”; listed as Muckelwhee (Reel 6057; 4/1768 p.167) In July 1823, John’s wife, Mary McIlvee arrived as a convict per ‘Woodman’ - she also enquired about John’s whereabouts. In late 1824 she married John Donovan (Southworth 1822) - he was married to Elizabeth, in Ireland, she arrived in NSW in 1826 (Free) and John Donovan went on to live with her. Do not know what happened to Mary McIlvee after that. Mary McIlvee was 28 years old on arrival. Native Place: Tyrone. Colonial Secretary Papers: MCILVEE, Mary. Per "Woodman", 1823 1823 Jul 3: Recently arrived per "Woodman". Re place of assignment of her husband John who arrived in the Colony per "Almorah", 1820; listed as Muckelwhee (Reel 6057; 4/1768 p.167) 1824 Nov 1: Re permission to marry at Sydney; appears as McKilva (Reel 6013; 4/3512 p.690) https://www.ancestry.com.au New South Wales, Australia, Colonial Secretary's Papers, 1788-1856 Copies of Letters Sent Within The Colony, 1814-1827. 1824: Married John Donovan (Southworth 1822). John Donovan's wife, Elizabeth (Mahoney) arrived in NSW in 1826 and he went on to live with her. Do not know what happened to Mary McIlvee after that - her 1st husband John McIlvee was still alive, he arrived on the 'Almorah in 1820'. Mary obviously enquired after her husband when she arrived, as per above. 17/8/1829: COF
