New South Wales, Australia, Convict Indents, 1788-1842 for Bryan McKiernan Annotated Printed Indentures 1835 From County Cavan Ireland. Was sent to Tasmania on the Manlius originally. Sent to Port Macquarie on board the Schooner Currency Lass in 1835 Joseph Kind Master. tried at Lancaster on 8/3/1828 and sentenced to life. One previous conviction of 7 yrs. According to the Currency Lass Indent Bryan was originally transported to Hobart in 1820 and was pardoned for having assisted in the apprehension of bushrangers and went home in the Medway. He was then tried in 1828 for Highway robbery and sent to Hobart on board the Manlius for life. He was described as 5' 7" brown complexion brown to grey hair and light brown eyes. ToL 39/1564 and C P no 48/1407 dated 10/7/1848. Had a number of tattoos and the poem: on Erin's shore, set me once more That happy day to see I'll strain each vein, to maintain, its rights and Liberty
