Family connections for Margaret (McMahon) are: Some amendments added Jun 2025, McMAHON Margaret (McMahon) was born about 1776. She was tried for stealing a watch at Dublin city, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a voyage of 6months on MARQUIS CORNWALLIS. She had a relationship with Thomas (Chaseland/Chaseling/Chasland/Chaslin his first relationship) whom she later married. She was Free by Servitude by 1811. She married Thomas (Chaseland/Chaseling/Chasland/Chaslin) on 29 11 1812 at St Matthews CofE Windsor & produced 7children. She died on 4/15 1 1815 age39 of childbirth & was buried, as (Chaseling). at St Matthews CofE Windsor. [Some details taken from this Website] Thomas (Chaseland/Chaseling/Chasland/Chaslin) was born about 1773. He was tried for breaking entering stealing handkerchiefs, on 5 4 1791, of Thomas (Copp), sentenced to death reprieved to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 30 5 1792 after a voyage of 4months on ROYAL ADMIRAL. [He is thought to have been the father of Tommy (Chaseland) born to an Aboriginal girl in 1797] He was Free by Servitude, maybe by 1799, certainly by 1802 (but why if his sentence was for Life?). As Thomas (Chaseling), as he is definitely now known, married secondly Elizabeth (Gibbs her first? marriage) on 31 3 1816 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. He died on 27 11 1847 age74 father of maybe 8children.
