Convict Notes

Although no evidence has been found to back up the claims that this convict actually existed, it has been claimed that she was a real person with real descendants and was the inspiration for the character Polly McNamara (played by Kerry McGuire) in the Australian miniseries “Against the Wind”. Polly was from Cork Ireland and married Will Price who had arrived as a convict on the First Fleet. Like Polly no evidence has been found to prove that Will Price was a real person, however there was a John and James Price who arrived with the First Fleet
