Mary McPhail was 28 years old, and had 1 child when transported for stealing a watch, the property of John Dunlop. She was born in Glasgow, was pockpitted, dark brown eyes, black hair, 4'10 1/4" tall, and a widow. 1835: Assigned to J O Gage. Her conduct record is full of AWOL's and being sent to the washtub, and being drunk a lot. 1836: Mary married Joseph Firkin (Caledonia 1822) The marriage did not stop her wanton behaviour, which continued. 1842: COF.
