Owen was 40 years old on arrival. His wife Rose Hand was dead. In 1855, Owen had paid passage for some of his children to join him in Australia, they arrived per "Simmonds". 27/12/1832: Assigned to James Foster at Petersham. 1837: TOL Liverpool 18/12/1839: COF. 1838: Owen married Margaret Wallace (a convict), found no children.

Owen Meehan was convicted of stealing a pig in County Cavan on 22 October 1831. Owen was sentenced to 7 years. He was transported on the Dunvegan Castle II and arrived in Sydney on 16 October 1832. Owen got his ticket of leave on 2 December 1837.
