Thomas Melloy was 24 years old on arrival in VDL. He was transported (along with Robert Allen, Bengal Merchant 1838) for stealing 2 rings, value £10 from Charles Gibson's Jewellery shop on 5/12/1837. Thomas was 5'7 1/2" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, pockpitted, married - wife Susan at native place-London. 4/1/1845: TOL 15/1/1846: Hobart QS - Convicted of burglary in the house of James Coppen and stole money, to be sent to Norfolk Island for 4 years. 31/12/1859: The Argus, Melbourne. Thomas Melloy was charged with forging and uttering a cheque for £27.10s., with intent to defraud R. McGeorge. After some evidence was given by the detective, the prisoner was remanded till Wednesday. No date of death found.
