1831, 27 November: He was admitted to the Justitia prison hulk moored at Woolwich, and listed as 40 years old; from there he was sent on 11 February 1832 for transportation (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849). 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as a gardener aged 40, and married to Janet Brodie with whom he had 5 children. 1838, 7 December: He was granted a Ticket of Leave. 1841, 3 November: His Conditional Pardon was approved (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-30$init=CON31-1-30p93).

1831, 26 October: Andrew was convicted at Berwick for horse stealing and sentenced to 14 years. This was his first offence. His jail report described him as of a "peaceable disposition" (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-30$init=CON31-1-30p93).
