He is NOT the father of Thomas MAZLIN jnr born 1819 who is the son of Hannah BROWN -ship Broxbournebury 1814 Thomas MAZLIN - ship Glory 1818 . Evidence - He is recorded in the 1822 General Muster ship "Glory" with a Ticket of Leave & is employed by a Landholder in Windsor. His son Thomas Maslin, born in colony, son of Hannah Brown, Sydney aged 3.

Received an Absolute Pardon (#379) on 31 January 1821, so that he could join the crew of Dromedary as Shipwright/Carpenter/Joiner. He sailed out of Sydney on 8/2/1821 on Dromedary. He died in London in 1847. Whilst in Australia, he fathered a son - Thomas Maslin/Mazlin - with Hannah Brown (Broxbornebury, 1814). Thomas Mazlin remained in Australia with Hannah Brown when Messling returned to the UK
